Local business development
Imagine a former private mansion, minimalistic design infused with local touches, personalized service and a social business model in the heart of UNESCO-protected Antigua, Guatemala.
Rooms feature traditional washing sinks, private patio’s, open air showers and spacious loft-like mezzanines. Dominated by a serene luxurious atmosphere, spaces are lush and gradually blend, as does their function. It's a place where creativity is uplifted and people gather and hang-out.
What we’ve accomplished:
All staff is local and was un-employed before joining the Good Hotel team. They were recruited based on their personality. We've invested in their training & learned them the skills they need to deliver the most personal service.
All profits of the hotel are donated to our local NGO partner Nińos de Guatemala, educating children living in poverty. Today, Niños de Guatemala is operating 3 schools, offering 500+ kids quality education.
We work with local artisans & social enterprises, stimulating local entrepreneurship and help develop the local economy. We give them a platform to showcase their craft and products, and reach their audience.
In November 2017, the first class of Niños de Guatemala graduated. Good Hotel will sponsor a full-time high-school education and internship for 3 students that want to pursue their career in the hospitality industry.
