Collaboration with independent local businesses
Imagine a re-designed floating platform, pure industrial design, unique waterfront location, living room and rooftop terrace - all with a view every Londoner would love to wake up with.
The hotel introduced social business into the London hotel scene upon opening and is a social hub to connect, share and feel part of the neighborhood.
What we’ve accomplished:
The floating platform launched in Amsterdam after training 100 unemployed locals. 70 of them were successfully re-integrated and are employed to date. Good Hotel continues its mission in the docklands of East London, driving development of the area.
Each quarter, 15 long-term unemployed locals start the customary Good Training program and a paid full-time job at Good Hotel. After 6 months, and after successfully completing the training program, trainees are assisted in their mediation towards the hotel industry, and making room for a group of new trainees.
For each reservation that is made directly with the hotel, 5 GBP per room per night goes directly to our NGO Niños de Guatemala, educating children living in poverty.
We lead by example and get the hotel industry onboard. We recruit 4 and 5 star well-established hotels in the community we're in. We call them our partner hotels. They commit to joining the job days we organize for our graduated trainees 4 times a year and offer them an equal chance in the recruiting process. In Amsterdam alone, the demand for graduated Good Trainees was so high, we continued the training program even after Good Hotel set sail to London. Long-term unemployed got a new chance and re-integrated into the economy. Our partner hotels got motivated, well trained employees that offer the most authentic and genuine service.
